The Marie A. Dornhecker Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, private operating foundation. This Foundation was created and is primarily funded by, the Estate of the late Marie A. Dornhecker. Our goal and purpose is to provide educational scholarships and programs that foster and encourage an interest in the French language and culture and the impact they have had on the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Marie A. Dornhecker Foundation is offering scholarships for the purpose of promoting the study of the French language and culture in Virginia. Applications are currently being accepted and will be considered for grants to be awarded for the upcoming academic semester. Applicants must be Virginia residents, that are either graduating high school seniors entering an accredited college or university or current full-time students enrolled and registered in an accredited college or university for the academic year noted on the attached Application. Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s past academic performance, financial need, and the ability to communicate through a scholarly essay to be submitted with the application. Interested applicants should download the application by clicking on the word Application, here or in the above heading. All applications must be complete and must be received by the Foundation on or before the deadline set out in the attached Application, to be considered for this periods awards.

The Foundation does not discriminate based on age, race, religion, ethnic origin or gender, and is under no obligation to make any scholarship grants. Prior to making awards the Foundation reserves the right to withdraw any scholarship offer at any time, in whole or in part, at its sole and absolute discretion.
